Magneto, an extra wild symbol in this round, will switch the game to the Villains’ mode, featuring 8 free spins, if he appears on reel 3. In this mode, only the villains and the wild symbol appear, with Xavier being an extra wild. Xavier appearing on reel 3 will switch back to the Heroes’ mode. The free spins within the Villains’ mode are continually counted down each time the mode is entered and once 8 free spins have been completed, the game ends.

X Men is also linked to the Marvel Mystery Jackpot, which consists of four levels. This is randomly triggered (chances are increased with larger bets) and leads the player to a 20 square grid. The player then clicks on the squares to reveal symbols relating to the different jackpot levels and the first level to be revealed with 3 symbols is the one hit. The four levels are Power, Extra/ Super and Ultimate Power and for understandable reasons, it is disabled during the free play mode.
